Frequently Asked Quetions

What should I wear?

Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The clay does wash out of clothing, but the red clay can stain light colored clothing.

What can I expect?

You can expect to experiment with various types of clay and learn to throw on the wheel or create hand built ceramics pieces. You will work to create a few unique pieces. The most commonly thrown items are cups, mugs, and bowls. You can also expect to hear some interesting history of the space.

How should I prepare?

Wear clothes you can get messy in. Bring a hair tie to pull back long hair. If you are able to trim your nails do so as long nails can become caught in the clay especially when throwing on the wheel.

When will my pieces be finished?

Finished pieces take at least 3 weeks to complete as the clay needs to dry out for 5-7 days before it goes through 2 seperate firings.

Is my pottery food safe?

Yes! The pieces you create will be food safe. You can also use them in the microwave and put them in the dishwasher.
